One Day Free Dental and Eye Camp
On December 3, 2010 Rotaract club of Annapurna successfully organized a one day free Dental and Eye camp at Mahendra higher secondary school in Bhalam-3 a village situated near to Pokhara city. For the camp the technical and Doctor Support were provided by Manipal Teaching Hospital. There were around 200 People including both students and the villagers who turned up for check up in the camp.
In the camp altogether seven health workers including Dr. Megha Sherchan, Dr. Angela Basnet, and Dr. Yuvraj Sedai and other medical personnel and Nurses from Manipal provided the medical assistance for the camp.
In the opening session of the program, Rtn. Madhav Prasad Sigdel, IPP of Rotary club of Pokhara Annapurna spoke about the benefits and importance of such health camps targeted towards the poor people of the country and acknowledged the efforts made by RAC Annapurna in such a short span of time of the club being chartered.
The camp was organized under the coordination of Club’s Community service director Rtr. Kiran Paudel, and in that camp the principal of the school Mr. Bishnu Bdr. Khatri, The Public Relation Officer and Camp Coordinator of Manipal Teaching Hospital Mrs. Sulochana Dhakal, the Vice Principal Kali Prasad Paudel and The Eye Department Technician of Manipal Teaching Hospital Mr. Pasupati Baral spoke about the importance and benefits of such heath camps.
The program was conducted under the chairmanship of the Club’s Charter President Rtr. Nikesh Prasad Karmacharya and the MC for the program was done by the Club’s Elect President 2011-12, Rtr. Punam Giri. The Vote of thanks was delivered by the Club’s Community service director and the coordinator of the program.
The club also acknowledged the support provided by the medical team from Manipal Teaching Hospital by distributing Certificates and token of love to individual members of the team. The day following the camp the club presented the appreciation certificate to the Hospital Director of Manipal Teaching Hospital.
